To start off, just one word.." unbelievable"..!! i was just another Theatre actor in Hyderabad who loved acting and making films.[which i started though]...i would not have imagined in my wildest dreams that i would do a full on commercial film that too in Telugu...!! i always said that i would never do a Telugu film and when it actually came my way...i couldn't utter a word....well, for all you guys who are thinking am i writing my autobiography..well.. i am telling abt my journey towards full too commercial cinema...
let me take u back in time..hmmm..around Feb 2008.....tickk..tick...
[And this is what my look is in the film..i lil more civilised though]
the scene is i am happily organizing the farewell party but just then,, i get a call from my Mentor, my co-actor, my Boss and so on...Mr.Ratna Shekar Reddy 'Sir'[ hates to be called tat]..that there is this Telugu movie audition happening and the movie is being directed by Chandrashekar 'elle 18' [i actually heard in tat way and thought it must be his pen or pet name]...!! initially, i wasn't so keen on going as it being a 'Telugu" film but after much persuasion and thinking that i will experience an authentic movie audition[ coz i haven't experienced it..even now]...i went to the office which was situated at Jubilee Hills..!! i had no clue who is the director, whats the movie abt..and even i am gonna do if they ask me to perform..i just carried a soft copy of my short films 'Fear Death' and "My Father is not a Terrorist".
Scene 2
I enter the office. i met Sudheer, the one whom i was in touch with and who had called me for the meeting. i had to sit for quite some time and i then got a chance to meet "The Man". Dressed in simple shirt and trousers, Chandu sir smiled and offered an seat. First Question-" do u know Telugu" answer- a straight no but yes i can manage as mine is a butler Telugu..!! he then asked me to converse in Telugu only...the repercussion... i was going thru hell...
the very next question-"do u know me?"..one more straight answer-"no sir"... he smiled and said, " go to google and type chandrashekar yeleti and you Will come to know abt me"
but interestingly, i still couldn't get his name until i actually sat on the Internet and typed the semi understood name and wit the help of suggestions, i got to know abt who is Chandrashekar Yeleti...
the story wasn't done yet...he asked me several questions as to how dint i know Telugu and he also complimented that " i can see confidence in your eyes and its good"..
frankly, i didn't give a damn to that compliment until i realised its coming from whom..
i then gave the soft copy of my films and pushed off...
Sudheer said he would get back to me...but tat took quite some time...watch out for this space for its continuation..
